Ask A Dermatologist: What Is SPF?

Our Dermatologist-Approved SPFs for Everyday Wear
If there’s one thing any Dermatologist will tell you, it’s just how important it is to wear a good SPF daily to prevent sun damage (seriously, our Dermatology Team don’t ever let us forget it).
Wearing sunscreen can significantly improve your skin’s health – protecting it from the sun’s damaging UV rays and reducing the risk of developing skin cancer. A good sunscreen can even slow down the skin’s ageing process and also reduce problems with pigmentation.
And when our Dermatology Team says ‘every day’, they even mean the days when you’re not outside. UVA rays can still make their way through windows (especially on planes, for you travellers), so it’s vital that you give your skin as much protection as you can.
Our Dermatology Team have rounded up their favourite sunscreens that sit perfectly under your foundation (if you wear it, that is) and don’t cause unwanted breakouts. They also recommend applying your chosen sunscreen as the last step in your skincare routine, after cleansing and before your foundation.
